Ben is very into coloring, painting, and writing letters lately. He loves creating pictures and putting them in envelopes that we then stick in our mailbox and he retrieves so he has mail. (Note: He loves getting mail, for any auntie or uncle out there who has a hankering to write your favorite 3-year-old a letter). He soon realized that markers and paint didn't just work on paper, they also work on fingers, hands, and other body parts. Thankfully his markers and paints are washable, but he knows coloring is supposed to stay on paper. So usually he just acts quickly before I can turn around. I can tell he's either already colored on himself or is about to do it because he shoots a furtive glance my way and hides his hands. Here's some of his handiwork for you to enjoy.

Ben was telling Tyler today on the way to preschool how "cool" painting transformers were this morning. So all day long I've been telling Ty, "Let's paint pictures today like Ben did." And guess what he said, "How 'bout we watch shows instead, Mom?"
Psst, Ben:
It works best if you color on your body where your clothes cover it up so it won't show, like on your belly and high up on your legs. Trust me, I know all the tips and tricks to getting away with furtive body art.
Randy and I were coloring the other day and Randy got marker all up on himself. I think this should officially make Randy, Ben's favorite uncle:)
Oh, Nollie... I miss you guys. There are times now with Max that I think, "Oh my goodness, it's like Ben." I remember little things that Ben did when you guys were here and Max is now doing so many of them (things that Madi never really did). Anyway, he's so stinking cute... and Max did this very thing the other day (painted all over his face and hands). Boys.
