I seriously think I'm going to be sick right now. A plumber just left and said it's going to cost us over $160 plus parts and tax to fix our toilet that won't stop running. Yes, it's going to cost 15 times the cost of the $12 part that needs to be repaired. $140 in labor, plus a $20 fuel fee. Are you kidding me? For the two minutes it's going to take to put the piece in, that works out to hundreds of dollars an hour in labor costs. You're not a brain surgeon! Plus, he has to go and get the part, probably at Home Depot. Am I being charged for the time to do that as well? We have GOT to learn to do home repairs. If you know someone who's handy, please give me their name. I'll pay them half of what a plumber would cost and still come out ahead. Sigh...
I think I'm just on edge because we're going out of town this weekend, our first time since the draconian luggage charges have gone into effect. Yep, on Northwest Airlines they now charge you to check even one bag. So, being cheap, I am going to shove everything into my one carry-on suitcase. Thankfully, I am a champion at packing light.

Maybe we should do a plumbing night for enrichment. So sorry about that Nollie!
Way to be a light packer! I have yet to experience those "Draconian" luggage restrictions....yuck. Sorry about the toilet! Best of luck!
Randy and his name even rhymes with handy. He's more than just a burly man who can drive the ball. Everybody needs a little Randy Besich home maintenance skills in their life. That kids got talent. Eat your heart out A-ha.
I had a very similar experience but thankfully the bill went to the landlord. Maybe I could come over and try my hand at it...I would love a little spendin' money!
Hey Nollie! It's so good to hear from you! We've had fun reading over your blog! What a cute family!!
Yeah, we've had some experience lately with being grossly overcharged. We went to make copies of our 1 key to the new car. They were $50 a piece PLUS an $80 charge to program the keys (yeah, don't even ask), PLUS $120 to have the keyless entry activated and the remote ordered. WHAT???? Nothing like having to severely amend the budget for mundane things that should have only set you back $10.
Hope your trip was fun! Can't wait to hear about it!
