As we were picking up Andy's half marathon race packet tonight in an area of town we don't normally frequent, I spotted Sugardaddy's and let out a squeal. Serendipitiously, it happened to be in the adjacent shopping center and after Andy recovered from my little outburst I had to explain the reason for my excitement.Sugardaddy's Sumptuous Sweeties is a widely hailed brownie and confectionary emporium that a foodie friend of mine has raved about ever since we moved here. I've never had a chance to sample their offerings until tonight. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint and is well worth the long haul up to Polaris. Andy and I fancy ourselves brownie conosseiurs and these were hands down the best I've ever tasted. Cupcakeries seem to be all the rage as of late, along with yogurt shops such as Pinkberry et al., but the "gourmet" cupcakes I've sampled haven't lived up to the hype. They've uniformly been a bit dry and bland. Not so with Sugardaddy's.
This is what we ended up ordering: The Auburn Original. As described on the website, "This deep, dark sweetie gets its strong chocolate flavor from premium-quality bittersweet chocolate and a dash of espresso from the finest coffee beans. A textural contrast with bits of dark and white chocolate." You can also get it with nuts, but heaven forbid, don't taint your delicious treat with such interlopers. I also highly recommend the Cinnamon Blondie.So head to Sugardaddy's for a little indulgence or a fun date night treat. You can also order them online, if you're so inclined.

Whenever we would frequent Columbus, which hasn't been in a good while, we LOVE the black raspberry chip ice cream at Graeters!
Brownies or good vanilla ice cream or both. Doesn't get any better than that!

I've finally found a cupcake place that lives up to the hype. {Like you I've been consistently disappointed.} It was a little boutique in Lehi--or perhaps they count that part as American Fork--amidst the Target's, Smith's, and Cafe Rio's. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I have to tell you, I almost fainted when I took my first bite. Dramatic? Yes. But what do you expect from someone like me? They really were THAT GOOD!
