And step away from the clippers. Someone should have told me that before I decided to give Ben his summer "haircut." More of a shearing. It's hot and his hair was getting long, so I thought he should get a summer 'do like lots of other little boys. I borrowed some clippers from a friend and snapped on the #2 guard, thinking it would do the trick. Well, it turned out a little shorter than expected.
We went from this (on Friday morning)...
To this on Friday afternoon. He's looks like he's ready to report for boot camp. The sucker was his reward for holding still while I cut his hair.
It was a shock at first, but I'm getting used to it and actually think it's pretty cute. Plus, it's fun to rub my hand against his head now - I like the feel of it.

My brother always sported a summer cut. Peach Fuzz, we called him. With such short hair, Ben's beautiful eyes stand out more.

#2 is a quarter of an inch... I could've told you that. :P
The numbers count eights of an inch. So for future reference:
#1 = 1/8 inch
#2 = 1/4 inch
#3 = 3/8 inch
#4 = 1/2 inch
...
#8 – 1 inch
I'm sure this won't be the last haircut you give him (nor the last one producing unintended results).
You gotta love the BUZZ! You can't really mess it up! You did a great job- you'll get used to it the more you do it! With all the BUZZED BOYS in the ward, it's going to be hard to tell them apart! :0)
I just laughed out loud (LOLed, if you will) when I saw that. It's so different from how I'm used to him. But it looks strangely similar to a picture we have of him when he's about one and in a big blue toy car at some park. Look it up in your photo archives. I'm sure you'll see what I mean.
Love it. I'm now cutting Max's hair now, too. The great thing is that when they are so young, it's still funny to have a bad haircut and they don't know the difference. I figure I have about five years to learn how to do it well. :)
That said, I actually like his haircut. It's short, but really cute.
