It's finally here. I've hit the big 3-0 and lived to tell the tale. It's wierd because by this point in her life my mom had five kids and she was O-L-D. But in my head I'm still 21, although I guess I have to feel at least 25 since I have two kids. This picture was taken when I was a river guide in Jackson Hole, WY, 11 years ago almost exactly. As my best friend and partner in crime who is also in the picture put it so eloquently, "Look at those kids, will ya? Do they even know what they're in for?"I'm glad I didn't because there's no way I could have predicted where I am now, the person who I've become, and the experiences that have shaped me along the way. There are many things I'd like to improve on, but over all, it's been a good 30 years so far. I'm going to try and round up some other old pictures for everyone's amusement, not least my own.
Have you reached a "milestone" birthday yet? How old do you feel relative to your "true" age?

More pics...more pics...more pics!!!!
I want more pics too, but of your recent goings on. You have a camera now so no more excuses lady. I need babies, babies and more babies. Okay, and you Andy can be in them too. Just kittens.
Happy Birthday seester!
happy birthday. 30 was a great day for me..made me reflect and more importantly, look forward. i am stuck at 25ish..and maybe forever!:)
I think 30 is a great age because you've learned a lot, figured out who you are a little more but are still young enough to keep learning.
I look back at any year and just see the mistakes I've made or the little I knew about myself and others so I tend to look forward to increased intelligence and introspection with age! Maybe by 60 it will all make sense.
Happy Birthday, Daughter Dear! I still see you as that girl in the photo, only better now, with family. You're still the girl who seems happiest when she's running around as if her hair's on fire, she's got so much going on. I love that about you.
Your birthday causes me to reflect. We spent my 30th birthday in SLC with my sick mom and a week later attended her funeral. So, from the mom who was OLD at 30 and is delighted to be even OLDER now, Happy Birthday!!! I'm still 35 in my head, so who cares what the calendar says. Life's about living and growing. Enjoy every day!!! I love you!
Happy birthday yesterday! I hope you had a good day, and I hope you had a great time at Wicked! We still owe you for babysitting sometime!
I just had mine last week. What a milestone, eh? I love the pic of you and Mandy. That is exactly how I still picture you both!
Here we come 30's...... watch out, it's just gonna keep getting better! ;-)
Happy (now belated) Birthday! Cheers to fabulous favorite things! Novel idea; and way too much fun.
P.S. Love the family pics! You're stunning! I say, bring on 30 (so many ladies making it look really good...I'm not scared at all!:)
Oh there was more where that one came from! I hope you had a blast on your birthday! I wish I could have been there! I want a run-down of the favorite things!! And for the record, I think I'm about 25 in my brain. I realized I wasn't when I saw some guy I thought was too young to be doing his shopping at Costco (since when do they give high schoolers Costco cards?) and then noticed the wedding band on his hand as he handed the clerk the dough. Yeah. I think I'm getting older.
I think when I turned 29 I freaked out more about turning 30 than when I actually turned 30. I guess I had a good year to prepare.
