Golf has officially become Ben's new passion. He and Andy have a weekly date to the driving range and now that I'm in the sedentary pregnancy stage I've taken him to putt and chip a few times while I sit on the side under a tree and read. He pores over
Golf Digest and requests that we check out back issues when we go to the library.

Ben in action

A few weeks ago we got free tickets to the Nationwide Children's Hospital Invitational golf tournament, which was held at OSU's Scarlet golf course. It's an official PGA event, but a minor league one so we thought Ben would enjoy it. The action was a little too slow for both of us, but Andy had a great time and Ben was happy because we went on the day they were giving away free ice cream.

I never thought I'd say it, but I prefer watching golf on TV to watching live. It would probably be different if we were at a major tournament. We went to the Phoenix Open when we lived in AZ and that was fun to see all the big name players.

Watching an approach shot

Last weekend Andy participated in the Nationwide Open, his company's annual golf tournament. He ended up second place overall and took home a trophy, as well as a new driver that he won in the raffle. Ben loves looking at Andy's trophy and I think he has a newfound respect for his dad who is now is an official golf champion in his eyes. He also loved looking at the driver and was sad when Andy announced he wasn't keeping it since it wasn't the right type for his game. He kept taking the cover off and looking at it, then re-covering it.

Ben is going to be such a golf stud by the time he hits high school. But the question remains: Is the post-golfing soda ban still in effect?
Congrats to Andy! I can see why Ben's impressed. Can't wait to see you all soon. My suitcase is packed and waiting.
Ah yes...the soda ban. Saw a 4-year-old in meltdown on the train out of Munich today. Couldn't understand mom's gentle words, but it was the soda that calmed the wild child. What is it about soda and little boys?
Hey Nollie! I love that he reads the magazines! How cute!

Nollie, you have to be the cutest pregnant girl i have ever seen!
uhhh, that above comment is from Cami, not Steve. Ooops. That would be weird, right?
I have so many things to comment on I just don't know where to start... First, congratulations if you've had your baby by now. Steve said he thought you were getting induced sometime very soon! We can't wait to hear all about it. Second, I love that you guys are so kind and generous. Steve loves the driver and couldn't be happier. What good friends! Third, tell Ben to continue to color on the toilet seat - it makes me laugh. Fourth, I love shopping with coupons and I'm so glad you love it too. It's my new favorite hobby. I really feel more excited about buying groceries on sale than I do when I buy a new outfit. I'm sure Steve prefers this also. I've never saved as much as you did in that last shopping trip. Nice job! Fifth, I've never been on a carnival ride in my life. My mom had a strong wariness of them because she believed that a ride that could be put up or taken down in a day surely couldn't be sturdy. She has a good point! We miss you guys and hope you're happy!
