Super Glamour Mom

When you look this good and are ready to roll in your minivan, it's hard not to feel like you're rockin' it every day.
Especially when you have fabulous varicose veins...
That require you to stuff your painfully engorged legs like sausages into prescription strength compression stockings every day.
Sorry friends, you can't just run out and snag a pair of your own at Nordstrom. I had to get these babies specially fitted at a medical supply store. They're the height of geriatric chic. I kid you not.

Funny story: I was in the workout room at the Sun Valley Inn when a cute white haired lady approached and said, "Can I ask you a question?" Sure, I replied. "Where did you get your stockings? They're so flattering! They match your legs so well." Why thank you, I'm blushing. We proceeded to have a conversation about their brand, pricing, and benefits, as well as the fact that I made sure to get ones without toes so that I could still wear sandals in the summer. A fashionista has to keep her wardrobe options open.
And getting your all-important beauty rest is super romantic when you're ensconced in a ginormous maternity pillow that takes up more than half of your bed. Nothing says "cuddle time" like a quasi-womb that prevents your spouse from getting within a foot of you. We jokingly refer to this as the third member of our marriage and have lovingly dubbed him "Herman."
So in honor of my 28 week doctor's appointment today and to distract me from the fact that not only do I have to have my blood drawn, but also a dreaded Rhogam shot (#seriousneedlephobe), here are a few looks that I wish I was rockin'.
 Polka dots!
This one might actually be long enough.
 Love the pattern.
Mom prom, anyone?
Maybe we'll snag a spontaneous wedding invite so I'd have a chance to don this beauty. After all, I did attend my sister's wedding 32 weeks pregnant with Lucy.

Cheers to pregnancy in all its glory.

They do indeed match your legs well. I have a "special" knee brace that I had to get fitted at a prosthesis shop. That was weird.

The definition of glamour. You are working that belly and stockings. But seriously, you look good minus I'm sure the pain of the veins. When people want to know where you got things, it means you look real gooood. Also, are some of the photographic snaps credited to miss lucy? She's got an eye for angles!

P.S. Where are the dresses from? The dots are cute!

No one can make a pair of compression socks sound as glamorous as you can.

This post totally had me laughing. And poor Herman, what happens to him after the baby?

That pillow looks absolutely phenomenal! I love the compression stockings...I wore them to work for years because they really are supposed to help anyone that is on their feet for long amounts of time from developing the awesome varicose veins...so no worries, I wear them even when I'm NOT pregnant! You rock them well :)

I am right there with you Miss Nollie. In all my pregnancy glory. Isn't is great? I actually went through my closet and organized etc...I actually got really sad looking at my old clothes feeling like getting my "body back" is going to be such a long LONG road after this baby #3. Oh well. I too have varicose veins..aren't they so fun? You look great...as always. I am excited for you.
ps. We are naming our little girl Lucy. I LOVE LOVE that name...hope that is okay...it makes me happy to know your little girl is Lucy...you are STILL (after all these years after Jerusalem) one of my favorite people.

Keep on keepin on'
Love you miss Nollie.

Glad Miss Lucy was there to hold your hand during the blood draw and shot. Not fun. Love your fashion style. Hope you actually get one of the dresses. They'll look cute above your well-compressed legs.
