I saw this book on Amazon and think it might be just the ticket.
Other than that, I haven't even started thinking about Christmas gifts yet. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, perhaps this would be the time to start. I'm also woefully behind on sending out a Christmas card since we haven't taken any current family pictures. Busy schedules, lack of planning, and our pregnant photographer/dear friend's due date collided so that we missed our window of opportunity. Now that I think of it, there is one from this summer that might do the trick. Better get on that ASAP.
Online shopping is going to be our friend this year since we'll be traveling for the holidays. I've gotten lazy and haven't gone Black Friday shopping since I was a teenager. Back in the day we always spent Thanksgiving in western Washington with my grandparents, and since they lived in a fairly remote area, it was big excitement to make the 45-minute drive into town to hit the sales at JC Penney, Lamonts, and Rite Aid. Now I try to avoid the toy aisle as much as possible as a general rule, let alone when hundreds of other sleep-deprived, budget-crunched, turkey-crazed customers are tearing madly down the aisles, all fighting over the same Zhu Zhu Pet.
Is that still a cool toy? I don't know even what's en vogue for kids right now.
- Where are you on your Christmas list? Are you an organized do-it-aheader or a last minute shopper?
- Will you be out on Black Friday, and if so, what will you be buying? Maybe I can be convinced it's worth the effort for the right item. Last week's email about 75% off all women's outerwear at Old Navy didn't even entice me, even though I have a major weakness for coats.

Dan and I are loving a deal we found on Walmart this week. We think its better than the real deal and we don't have to wait in line. I once went to one Thanksgiving night as a support member and vowed to never do it again! But...a $3 waffle maker might do the trick since ours is broken. Ugh! I hate shopping! :P
I have the Black Friday bug bad. We're looking for a fire pit and a DSLR camera. And let's be honest, maybe a few clothes:)We go out and poke around shopping but never at the unholy hours of the AM. Those are sacred.
