Combine:
1/2 c. rolled oats
1 c. water
Microwave on high for 3 minutes
Remove from microwave and top oatmeal with:
Milk
Dash of cinnamon
Syrup
Healthy sprinkle of nutmeg (or so you think)
This was me yesterday morning, on autopilot making my daily oatmeal. Except as I sat down and took the first bite, anticipating the heavenly mix of sugars and spices, my mouth began to burn. I'd inadvertently grabbed the cayenne pepper, which looks exactly like the nutmeg.
Definitely a recipe guaranteed to wake you up in a hurry!!
Do you have any food mishaps of your own featuring inadvertent ingredient omissions or swaps? While Andy and I were dating he and his roomates pulled a dastardly trick and brought me and my girlfriends a plate of snickerdoodles rolled in cinnamon and salt instead of cinnamon sugar. Very ironic because the doodles (as we like to refer to them) are now Andy's signature treat. Just be sure to stay on his good side...

It wasnt' food, but once coated my curls with Aloe Vera instead of gel since I'd switched the containers for travel size convenience.
Tyler makes me keep the flour far far far away from the powdered sugar because when he was younger he was trying to make cookies and got them confused.
I don't confuse things, I just make dumb mistakes like putting waaaay too much salt in boiling water and coming out with sodium-spiked spaghetti. So, yes. I've ruined plain spaghetti noodles. Impressive, I know.
